To advance civic and community engagement in Georgia counties, and thereby support the work of ACCG in accomplishing its strategic goals on behalf of those counties.

Since the summer of 2014, the GCIP has funded positions for 86 interns in 35 counties representing 42 colleges and universities. To ensure your students have an opportunity to participate in this year’s program, please help us to promote these paid internship positions by notifying your students and by following us on social media @GaCoInternships on Twitter and Georgia County Internship Program on Facebook.

Internships in county government do lead to job opportunities. Please see the following article published in the spring edition of the Georgia County Government Magazine which highlights several GCIP interns who were hired after completing their internship: http://www.nxtbook.com/naylor/ACGQ/ACGQ0116/index.php#/30

Thanks for all of your assistance!
